Kahiau Among

Kahiau is a first-year PhD student in the IFSN lab. She is interested in using neuroimaging techniques to study intergroup contact and the way that it mitigates biased attitudes and behaviors, with a particular interest in race as a social category. Kahiau would also like to study multiethnic and multiracial identities and how these unique perspectives influence one’s experience of the world. She received her B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in English with a Creative Writing concentration from Loyola University Chicago in 2024 before completing a post-bacc as a full-time clinical research coordinator at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Outside of the lab, Kahiau enjoys lifting, baking, and traveling. Pronouns: she/her. Expected Graduation 2031.
